Pierre-Alain Dupraz is a concrete architect. Concrete because his works get built with a love for the detail and a formidable precision for materials, but also concrete because his projects are always anchored to the ground with a sensibility that reminds that of Alvaro Siza. This desire to feel the ground, to excavate, to landscape, to enhance the site, to connect interior and exterior by means of wise piercing, while proposing rich paths along the building make him a real “topographic architect” – hence this book´s title: Topography in Architecture.
