描述
The story of a Palazzo and the chronicle of its restoration. This is the subject of this book on the historical building standing in the heart of Turin, the seventeenth century home of noble families of Turin that takes its name from the Counts Cacherano di Bricherasio, who bought it in the middle of the nineteenth century. From that moment and for more than a hundred years, Palazzo Bricherasio became a centre of cultural and economic activity. Berchet and Delleani were often to be found there; the articles of association of Fiat were signed in its rooms. After a few decades of relative abandon, the Palazzo has been restored to the splendour of the past. A skilful artistic restoration, impressive architectural intervention and a wide ranging project for its rehabilitation have returned the ancient residence to its historical cultural calling. The new and extensive use as exhibition space takes on a central importance; the Palazzo, home of the Fondazione Palazzo Bricherasio, expressly instituted, has been included on an international exhibitions circuit. Essays by those responsible for the architectural and structural project and by Alfonso Bellando, Marcella Beraudo di Pralormo, Angelo Dragone, Daniela Fabbris, Gianluigi Nicola and Marisa Vescovo tell the story of this Palazzo, the project, the chronicle of the restoration and the creation of the new functions.
