The architecture of the Amsterdam School is one of the most characteristic of Dutch architectural styles. A group of architects, which includes De Klerk, Kramer, Van der Mey and Wijdeveld, designed in the first decades of this century a number of remarkably expressionistic large-scale housing projects and public and private buildings in Amsterdam and elsewhere in the Netherlands. The architecture of the Amsterdam School is one of the most admired architectural styles of the early twentieth century.
