Necessarily Eurometropolitan explores eight architectural projects on the borders between Belgium and France, and between productivity and the picturesque. Published by the Berlage and designed by the award-winning graphic designer Joris Kritis, it is the first in a book series related to Bare Necessities, a program examining the origins, innovations, and legacy of architectural modernism in order to address present-day urgencies in the built environment. The book features essays by Ido Avissar, Salomon Frausto, Diederik de Koning, Michiel Riedijk, and Thomas Weaver, along with contributions by Myrsini Alexandridi, Santiago Brignardelli, Agnieszka Dabek, Pablo De Sola Montiel, Amritha Ganapathy, Ludo Groen, Marcela Montalvao Moreira, and Manolis Venierakis.
