This monograph brings together in 224 pages the most significant works made by the Valencian architect Fran Silvestre from the foundation of his studio to the present.
His main works of isolated houses are collected, such as the well-known Casa del Acantilado, Casa Balint or Casa entre la Pinada, all of which are well-developed at the level of plans for the first time in this volume. Apart from his work in the field of housing, his well-known and outstanding interior and rehabilitation works are also included, along with others of a larger scale, where the career of this young studio is also being developed.
The renowned architecture critic David Cohn reveals all the points of his architecture in the prologue.
“Fran Silvestre’s designs are not simply solutions to given design problems. Absorb and synthesize the innumerable problems of program, place and context, structure, construction technologies and others, subsuming them in the game of space and form that could be understood as the true protagonist of its architecture ”
“Silvestre’s structural audacity, its floating planes and transparent glass walls, as well as the insistent sublimation of surface and line materiality, give his designs a weightless quality without effort that is almost futuristic”
