「建築とは〈からまりしろ〉をつくることである」というコンセプトは、平田晃久の建築に一貫している。平田の造語である〈からまりしろ〉とは、はっきりと形作られる空間領域とは異なり、「ふわふわとした隙間の錯綜」、つまりはあらゆる物質の傍らとも言える領域の重なりを示す。初期作「桝屋本店」、建築学会受賞作「太田美術館・図書館」、話題作「八代市民俗伝統芸能伝承館」、最新作「HARAKADO」、そして2028年竣工予定の「練馬区立美術館・貫井図書館」まで、平田が自身の世界観を形にした21の建築作品をドローイング、写真、テキストで紐解くビジュアルコンセプトブック。展覧会会場写真を撮り下ろし掲載。
伴隨日本建築師平田晃久在 2024 年舉辦的特展《人間の波打ちぎわ》出版，《平田晃久 人間の波打ちぎわ》一書以平田的 21 件建築作品為核心，通過精美的設計圖、建築攝影作品和文字解析，深入揭示了他獨特的建築世界觀，並收錄展覽場地的全新影像資料，完整保存下這份難得的建築藝術盛會。
平田晃久始終以「建築就是創造『交纏之處』」之概念貫穿其設計哲學，至今也在解釋自身建築理念時，經常提到「交纏之處（からまりしろ）」這自創的獨特詞彙，並非指示明確的空間範圍，而是描述一種「漂浮而紛亂的縫隙」——即物質（不論植物、動物與不同時空的文化生命體）之間相互依存與交疊的模糊領域。
這種概念實際體現在他多部作品中，從早期的《桝屋本店》、榮獲日本建築學會獎的《太田市美術館·圖書館》，到引起廣泛關注的《八代市民俗傳統藝能傳承館》與最新作《HARAKADO》，以及預計計劃於 2028 年竣工的《練馬區立美術館·貫井圖書館》都能一窺平田追求建築空間纏繞交錯在人類與自然交界或之間的建築哲思與理解。
The concept that “architecture is the creation of ‘karamarishiro'” is consistent throughout Akihisa Hirata’s architecture. Unlike clearly defined spatial regions, ‘karamarishiro’, a word coined by Hirata, refers to a “fluffy tangle of gaps,” that is, the overlapping of regions that can be said to be the side of all materials. This visual concept book unravels 21 architectural works that have shaped Hirata’s own worldview through drawings, photographs, and text, from his early work “Masuya Main Store,” the Architectural Institute of Japan award-winning “Ota Museum of Art & Library,” the much-talked-about “Yatsushiro Civic Traditional Performing Arts Center,” his latest work “HARAKADO,” and the “Nerima Art Museum & Nukui Library,” scheduled for completion in 2028. 平田晃久（ひらた・あきひさ）
建築家。1971年大阪府生まれ。京都大学大学院工学研究科建築学専攻修士課程終了後、伊東豊雄建築設計事務所に勤務。2005年平田晃久建築設計事務所設立、2015年より京都大学准教授、2018年より京都大学教授。主な作品に「桝屋本店」、「Bloomberg Pavilion」、「太田市美術館・図書館」、「Tree-ness House」、「Overlap House」、「八代市民俗伝統芸能伝承館」、「HARAKADO」、「練馬区立美術館・貫井図書館」（2028年竣工予定）など。主な受賞にSDレビュー、JIA新人賞、第13回ヴェネチア･ビエンナーレ国際建築展 金獅子賞（協働受賞）、村野藤吾賞（太田市美術館・図書館）、BCS賞（太田市美術館・図書館）、日本建築学会賞（太田市美術館・図書館）。

Akihisa Hirata
Architect. Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1971. After completing his master’s degree in architecture at the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, he worked at Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects. Established Akihisa Hirata Architects in 2005, and became an associate professor at Kyoto University in 2015 and a professor at Kyoto University in 2018. His major works include Masuya Main Store, Bloomberg Pavilion, Ota City Museum of Art & Library, Tree-ness House, Overlap House, Yatsushiro Municipal Folk and Traditional Performing Arts Center, HARAKADO, and Nerima City Museum of Art & Nukui Library (scheduled for completion in 2028). Major awards he has received include the SD Review, JIA Newcomer Award, Golden Lion at the 13th Venice Biennale International Architecture Exhibition (collaboration award), Murano Togo Award (Ota City Museum of Art & Library), BCS Award (Ota City Museum of Art & Library), and Architectural Institute of Japan Award (Ota City Museum of Art & Library).(From the publisher’s official website)
