The contemporary debate on landscape is no longer expressed through the exclusive idiolect of a social class. We are instead confronted with a relentless landscape chatter, which invades every domain of daily life. Human sciences have participated in this tendency as well, feeding the landscape-discourse with an impressive amount of articles, collective works and debates on the subject. Once marginal, landscape has become central, if not essential to aesthetics and geography, while strengthening its position within sociological, anthropological and archaeological theories.
