The villa has always represented a very special architectural undertaking. It offers architects the opportunity to demonstrate their ability and good taste, but also demands a great measure of discipline. Here the Berlin architect Klaus Theo Brenner has collected together a series of 16 prototype designs for villas and country houses. All the designs are based on a unifying concept, which looks for the specific feature of architecture in a radical, effective overall form. Objects without compromise; characteristic houses, the effect of which is developed before and with the backdrop of nature – a conception opposing and complementing the urban row house. This architectonic picture-story offers a wealth of inspiration for both architects and their clients.
