“Dwelling, especially individual, unique housing, the house, constitutes one of the most interesting areas of research for architecture. Building a house, a shelter, is a natural condition. Close to any man, for any man knows what a house is. Vila Utopia proposes, starting from an existing plan, the construction of several houses, of unique experiences varying in the concrete problem, but also in the approaches of each architect who seeks to enhance and make each house relevant. Differentiated projects that seek, not an image, but a position translated into the proposal of spatialities capable of supporting and revealing experiences based on this beautiful, irreplaceable condition of the individual house”.
Utopia 1 is the book referring to the 1st phase of an undertaking involving some of the main Portuguese architects today.
