Jordi Bernadó, with his formidably acute humour, describes unknown places of the United States depicted by suggestive names such as Paradise (Texas), Utopia, and Eden. The title of the book refers to two neighboring Texas towns almost abandoned, one name True and the other named Loving. To create his photographs, Bernadó starts with the name of a place, and searches for stories, tales and unbelievable situations. These photographs are the outcome of random itineraries taking him to destinations overlooked by tourist guides. True Loving desires to be corrupted by the world of images and literature; the photographer uses his photos as words that tell a story. He looks at the United States and the historical ideas within our collective imaginary to understand the present moment. Each of the different chapters delves into diverse worlds and transforms them into imaginary places by both images and words.
