In the last 20 years with the growth of commercial interests in the old housing area of Kyoto, this central part of the city has seen the loss of public spaces like car parks. As part of a larger cultural exchange programme between Denmark and Asia, this catalogue presents 20 architectural projects for this area that provide innovative solutions to the following two questions: What architectural elements can be added or changed to create an environmental improvement for the inhabitants? And, how to establish a better relationship between housing and working areas?
