As Teppei Ono approaches a half-century of working with ceramics, his long-awaited first compilation publication appears. ‘The Works’ includes a selection of 125 objects that represent his whole career, reflecting changes in style over the years but with his unchanging artistic quality. Always an artist, always an expressive individual, he continues to grapple with the question: “For what purpose?” The objects born from Ono’s hands endure over time and persist through change, the result of his honest approach to life, his urge to create, and his constant inquiry into how to live within society. The book includes photographs of his ceramics workshop, taken by Shingo Wakagi.
