描述

Founded by Valerie Mulvin and Niall McCullough , McCullough Mulvin Architects works in cultural buildings and public works in Ireland, with the premise of defining a new public profile in a changing society, working with diffuse light and severe Irish materiality. His practice is focused on very particular contexts, realizing a multilayer architecture with sublimated references that reflects the specific response to place and context, to the configuration of modern interventions in existing buildings, an open investigation into materials and forms, which can occur at any scale. Her work also extends to residential works and urban projects, in addition to being extended in publications and research works.

“One of the main themes of our work is to grow architecture in and within its place, to deconstruct, strip as well as the archeology of architecture. In a globalized world of generic responses to contexts, the architectural experiment consists in exploring this potential, in moving back and forth, drawing and re-drawing to fix something in the project that really roots it. “
