描述
Winners of the 2017 Pritzker Prize, RCR Arquitectes —Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem, and Ramón Vilalta— was founded in Olot, Spain in 1987. Their work has been noted for being sober and elegant. With compositions of rhythm, weight and material they have managed to create great works such as the Soulages Museum, the Waalse Krook Media Library, the Sant Antoni-Joan Ollar Library, among others. Drawing is a fundamental part of their creative process, where with a set of strokes they reveal their explorations and interests.
The book arises from the exhibition with the same name, RCR. Work on paper, carried out within the framework of the MEXTRÓPOLI City and Architecture Festival and is based on more than 50 of his drawings in ink wash. This publication shows an expanded selection in three categories: Series, Sketches and Work. Series, exhibits a small collection of his plastic explorations; Esbozos reveals his work process with drawings that extract the essence and concept of some of his architectural works; and Obra exhibits his architectural interests from some of his travels from an artistic perspective.
