描述
The Vorarlberg architect Oskar Leo Kaufmann has received several awards, including with the Austrian State Prize for Architecture 2006, and nominated in 2007 for the Mies van der Rohe Award.
This first monograph of the internationally operating Vorarlberg architect Oskar Leo Kaufmann offers a very direct insight into his work and is also a unique book object. Shown in reverse chronological order are the unchanged printed entries as well as – as far as the projects were realized – photographs of the buildings. The focus is not on descriptive texts, but on the graphic representation and the details of each project. This is an attractive as well as blunt approach, which makes the attitude of the architect clearly comprehensible.
In order to be able to “capture” the originally large-format competition panels between two book covers, the designer Yvonne Rüscher has developed a concept that allows parallel scrolling in the upper and lower half of the book in two interconnected volumes. This bookbinding peculiarity enables duplication of the format and ensures readability of the content.
