The undergraduate programme in architecture at the NUS evolved from being a single professional discipline course to one that serves a multitude of purpose.
As the number in each cohort grows and the demand for the training of human resources in related disciplines emerges, the NUS programme has been reinvented to meet the challenges of the time. Whilst architecture as a discipline continues to be the central focus, the programme is structured to enable students to review opportunities that provide them with career options. Architecture as a discipline has itself a diversified range of interests, from design theorising, technology & sustainability to urban design and planning. Students may also divert their interests to the study of landscape architecture, a related programme offered by the Department. The NUS undergraduate programme has now emerged as the premier programme for the study of architectural and environmental design.
