For over forty years, Fauciglietti Engineering has embodied the perfect combination of methodological rigour and creative design. Based in Cantù, at the heart of Brianza, the independent research centre founded by Graziella Bianchi and Renzo Fauciglietti has combined engineering and design, industrial manufacturing and artisanal know-how, by nurturing local and international relationships and creating a methodology capable of mediating industry, technology and material culture. This book retraces Fauciglietti’s history and methodology through the conversations with its protagonists, theoretical considerations, memories and thoughts on the designer’s profession to portray a workshop of ideas and experimentations, where design is configured like an intellectual and operational process closely linked to the reality of manufacturing.
