The 69th EXPO 2020 DUBAI will be held for the first time in the Middle East, Africa and South Asia (MEASA). At the pace of advance, the world is becoming united and promoting win-win development and growth. 

This book is divided into each chapter based on three themes for this EXPO: Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability. The pavilions were created using the uniqueness and identity of each country. 

Each country’s pavilion sought to show it side by side on the same line, not on each country’s development standards or rankings.

We hope you can look into the role of the architectural elements of the pavilions that show the difference in harmony and coexistence.

제69회를 맞이하는 이번 <엑스포 2020 두바이>는 중동, 아프리카 및 남아시아(MEASA) 지역에서는 처음으로 개최됩니다. 진보하는 속도만큼, 세계는 점점 하나가 되어 상생의 발전과 성장을 도모하고 있습니다. 

본서는 이번 엑스포가 제시하는 세 가지 테마: 기회(Opportunity), 이동성(Mobility), 지속가능성(Sustainability)을 기준으로 각 장을 구분합니다. 각국이 채택한 테마를 저마다의 독창성과 정체성을 살려 파빌리온을 제작하였습니다. 각국을 대표하는 파빌리온은 각 나라의 발전 기준이나 순위가 아닌, 동일 선상에서 그 모습을 나란히 보여주고자 했습니다.

본서를 통해 화합과 공존 속에서 다름을 보여주는 파빌리온의 건축적 요소가 어떠한 역할을 하는지 들여다볼 수 있기를 바랍니다.
