Founded by Samuel Barclay in 2013, Case Design is a Mumbai-based architecture and design office working on diverse projects, such as the Avasara Academy. Located above a small village in western India, this residential school for young women is a work in process. With thoughtful attention to both physical and social environments, the school is evolving through a design-build process focused on inclusion and engagement. A diverse group of builders, designers, farmers, craftsmen, engineers, and artists has been involved in making the school, showing the potential and possibilities of an architectural practice based on collaboration and empathy.
