描述
Edited by Arquitectura Viva with the Fundación ICO, ‘Carme Pinós. Escenarios para la vida’ (‘Carme Pinós. Building for Life’) covers the career of the Barcelona architect, starting with the eight works she co-authored with Enric Miralles, among them Igualada Cemetery, the Morella Home-School, or the Huesca Sports Center, and continuing with eighty works and projects developed with her studio from 1991 on, with significant buildings like the CaixaForum in Zaragoza, the Cube Towers in Guadalajara (Mexico), and the interventions in Plaça de La Gardunya in Barcelona, where the Massana School is located. Hardbound in fabric, the 240- page book is bilingual Spanish-English, and includes, aside from the presentation text by Luis Fernández-Galiano – curator of the exhibition –, an interview by Izaskun Chinchilla that unveils her concern for context: “Architecture builds landscape or builds city: it is not a sculpture. Every urban action must be done with a view to building city, to dignifying our environment.”
