描述
Barcelona’s spectacular new telecommunications tower, at 288 metres high, as tall and as significant as the Eiffel Tower, stands on the Collserola hill, high above the city. It has become a symbol for Barcelona’s massive urban regeneration in the build up to the 1992 Olympics. Norman Foster, together with Ove Arup and Partners has broken with the conventional approach to such structures, and produced a remarkable design, built with boldly innovative construction methods. The story of this unique project is told by Kenneth Powell, architecture critic of the Daily Telegraph, with Richard Bryant’s stunning photographs.
