The Reichstag has been inaugurated, the Parliament has moved from Bonn to Berlin, now truly the capital of Germany. Once again, the Bauwelt Berlin Annual casts a glance at the spectacular buildings which have been completed over the year, documenting the activities which have been vital for Berlin. Amongst the highlights are the Foreign Office, the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Gehry’s bank at the Pariser Platz and Helmut Jahn’s Sony Center. The main part of the volume is complemented by a detailed chronology of building events and an index of all newly completed buildings of the current year.
