Throughout the 20th century, America has provided fertile ground for innovative residential architecture, from the Shingle Style pioneered on the East Coast in the late 19th century to the deconstructivist experiments in California today. This volume presents America’s finest masterpieces of modern architecture, featuring houses designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Eliel Saarinen, Walter Gropius, Philip Johnson, Charles Moore, Louis Kahn and Michael Graves.
